Meet our Milky Way's fate, the Andromeda Galaxy or Messier 31.

A spiral galaxy approximately 2.5 million light-years from Earth, and the largest and most massive galaxy of the Local Group (also containing the Milky Way, the Triangulum Galaxy, and about 30 other smaller galaxies.)

Andromeda and our Milky Way Galaxy are expected to collide in 3.75 billion years, eventually merging to form a giant elliptical galaxy.

Hope you like & enjoy, and as always: Feedback highly appreciated. Thanks for looking!

(The Second Palomar Observatory Sky Survey (POSS-II) was made by the California Institute of Technology with funds from the National Science Foundation, the National Geographic Society, the Sloan Foundation, the Samuel Oschin Foundation, and the Eastman Kodak Corporation.)
